Imagine yourself watching the sun set over the fields, sitting at a long table, enjoying a delicious dinner with ingredients you have picked yourself in the herb and vegetable garden…
A previous guest once used the words “Little Tuscany” to describe it; but it is also the versatility of this sustainable holiday home that stands out: ”We really enjoyed the time we spent here with our family. We went from one surprise to another: so many nice details, both inside and out!”
Families, couples, nature lovers, horse lovers, cyclists, mountain bikers and hikers: many will find their way to Het Voorhuis, just a couple of kilometres from the river Maas, in the middle of the ancient national park ‘De Maashorst’.
Authentic, Artisan and Delightful
The special garden is designed by a master botanist, and changes with the seasons: the forest garden, butterfly valley and fruit park bloom at different times of the year. While daydreaming and enjoying the scenic views or when playing on the large trampoline, you can see, smell and taste what the garden has to offer. The various ‘areas’ of the garden are connected by a barefoot path, so you can literally feel the garden between your toes.
Up to eight people
Het Voorhuis offers accommodation for groups of up to eight people, and combines everything you need for a short or longer stay. Enjoy the cosy atmosphere in the authentic rooms, attend a creative ecological workshop in the studio, pick herbs and flowers in the garden, or go out and about in the area. On a horseback for example, as Het Voorhuis is ideal for horse lovers, with two stables, a pasture and a paddock.
All of our 4 bedrooms are equipped with comfortable beds, sheets and towels. Our two bathrooms with walk in showers feature a modern design and our authentic kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to make a nice family dinner. The living room offers a television with a DVD-player and throughout the whole guesthouse and in the garden you can make use of our free WIFI.
In consultation it is also possible to increase the number of guests to a maximum of 10 guests (E.g. bunk beds and children’s cots).
At just a five minute drive from a main highway of the Netherlands, the A50, Het Voorhuis is easily accessible and is a perfect base for visiting theme park Efteling, the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem, cities such as Amsterdam, ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Eindhoven, and ancient fortified towns like Ravenstein and Grave. That said, the garden, the playground and the surrounding nature reserves of Herperduin and the Maashorst offer more than enough recreational opportunities to enjoy your holiday.
